This weeks blog post is about connecting with people (and a bit of what i’ve been up to on Touchdesigner this week)

I’m not a huge fan of social media, I stayed off it for years but have recently found it to be quite beneficial on instagram for the Touchdesigner community. Seeing what others are doing, and more importantly supporting others work and asking questions has been quite eye opening for me. People are super supportive and often keen to help out where they can. It always pays to be respectful and ask interesting questions if you find someones done something you’r impressed or intrigued by.

Ive also found that reaching out to others has been great for collaborating. Sometimes I find it hard to reach out as a lot of others people’s work just seems so much better, but it’s been really exciting to start some collabs with others. More on that soon!

In the world of Touchdesigner, i’ve started to do more still image work instead of the usual audio visuals, which has been really refreshing. It came about after reading this blog by Jason Bailey on artnome.com . I well recommend it if you’re into generative art. It’s a really good primer on the subject and well written. I also purchased this book whilst on the site too which i’m looking forward to reading.

A big thing I discovered this week was using the preview grid on the composite TOP. See the two videos below. I’ve not seen anyone mention this but I found it by accident. You can create some really cool effects with the grid turned on, especially if you start moving the grid sizes etc.
